Inter Miami CF is rewriting the playbook on legacy-building, unveiling the Leo Messi Stand at its state-of-the-art Nu Stadium ahead of its grand opening. This bold move honors Lionel Messi, the club’s captain and global icon, who has redefined what it means to lead a team both on and off the pitch. Since his arrival in 2023, Messi has not only brought unparalleled success to Inter Miami but has also elevated its profile to global heights. Naming a stand after him while he’s still actively playing is a testament to the profound impact he’s had on the club and the sport as a whole.

The Nu Stadium, located in the heart of Miami Freedom Park, is set to open its doors on April 4, kicking off a new chapter for Inter Miami with their first home match of the MLS regular season against Austin FC. With a seating capacity of 26,700, the stadium promises to deliver an intimate yet electrifying atmosphere for fans. But it’s more than just a venue for soccer—it’s the centerpiece of a 131-acre entertainment district designed to redefine the fan experience. From cutting-edge immersive features to signature spaces like the Nu Club and Nu Plaza, the stadium is poised to become a cultural hub for sports, music, and entertainment in South Florida.

The Leo Messi Stand, spanning sections 117-121 in the Lower Bowl and 217-223 in the Upper Bowl, is a fitting tribute to a player who has already etched his name into Inter Miami’s history books. Since joining the club, Messi has led the team to four major trophies, including the 2023 Leagues Cup and the 2025 MLS Cup, while becoming the franchise’s all-time leading scorer with 82 goals. His career accolades, from UEFA Champions League titles to the 2022 FIFA World Cup victory, further solidify his status as one of the greatest athletes of all time.

With the unveiling of the Leo Messi Stand, Inter Miami is also showcasing its ambition beyond the pitch. Strategic partnerships, such as the collaboration with Modelo as the official beer and founding partner of Miami Freedom Park, highlight the club’s commitment to creating a world-class entertainment destination. The Longest Bar, adorned with Modelo branding, will be a standout feature of the stadium, offering fans a unique space to gather and celebrate. Additionally, Heron Sports and Entertainment, the club’s venture into promoting major events, aims to bring global concerts and other entertainment spectacles to Nu Stadium.

Inter Miami CF president of business operations, Xavier Asensi, emphasized the club’s vision, stating, “We’ve already brought the most iconic players, clubs, and national teams in global fútbol to our backyard, and now we take another step as we announce our ambition of hosting that same level of excellence in concerts and other genres of entertainment.”

As the grand opening of Nu Stadium approaches, excitement is building among fans and the broader Miami community. Inter Miami is not just creating a new home for soccer; it’s laying the foundation for a legacy that transcends the sport. With Lionel Messi leading the charge and a world-class venue ready to host unforgettable moments, April 4 promises to be a historic night for the club and its supporters.
